I'm pretty sure that Hadestown was at $249 before the Tony win, at least for parts of the orchestra. The mezzanine for $249 might be new, though.
I personally think $249 is ridiculous, especially for a show like Hadestown with a relatively small cast, small orchestra, and without a flashy set or special effects. But I think that's too much for any show, although I realize that Hamilton changed the whole concept of what is too much.
Moulin Rouge is also at $249 for some orchestra non-premium seats, although it seems that they are staying at "only" $399 for the premium seats. |
