Has anyone done one of these? Where were the seats? What was the party afterward like?
I just paid $209 to see Hadestown in October, w/o being able to pick my seat. That pretty much breaks all of my theatre-spending rules: I don't spend that much; I generally don't buy that far in advance; and I certainly don't spend that much that far in advance without even getting to pick my seats!
Do I regret it? Yes. No. No. Yes.
Was saving $40 worth not knowing which seat AND waiting so long to see the show? You got me. I sort of responded to a ground swell of interest among my theatre buddies. I wonder if they're having second thoughts too.
But I just couldn't pay $249!
There's a thing in economics that I think is called the set point. Say you want someone to think X amount of money is low. Mention X+ beforehand. Say you want them to think it's big. Mention X- beforehand. I think I succumbed to that, since $209 is certainly less than $249.
Anyway, tangent, tangent, tangent. Thanks in advance to anyone who has any info. |
