| If you feel aggressive discomfort at someone pointing out that an audience is mostly white, that says as much about you as it does about the person pointing it out. Whether the comment was warranted, it doesn't sound incorrect, and certainly not "stupid". The person who said it may well have wanted to unsettle white people in pointing out the whiteness of the room, but that doesn't mean you have to meet that intent with derision of your own. | |
