well you definitely have a point of view on this and I am not going to try to disabuse you of it any more. However to say "lawyers and the profession in general thinks that director's copyright is something still to be established" is just wrong. No decent IP lawyer would ever say that, at least not one who wasn't trying to drum up some business.
