| My Favorite Show on Broadway right now is THE PROM. In town for World Pride? GO SEE THE PROM! just like theatre? Go see the Prom. On a budget? It’s in TDF. It’s exactly what we need right now in this country. A story about love and tolerance thats told through dance and laughter. I may have to see it a third time because I miss so much when I’m crying. I had the pleasure of bringing someone to their 1st Broadway show and I picked perfectly. She was so moved because she is from a small town in Utah and has grown up with that type of bigotry her whole life. It’s just proof that the show needs to be seen but as many people as possible. Beth Leavel stops the show Reminding us the only way to function is to keep improving . Brooks Ashmanskas Will make you laugh and cry within the same second. The LEG-indary Angie Schworer gives you the Broadway #zazz and the unstoppable ensemble lead by Becca Lee is the true “backbone” to the show. I walked out wanting everyone to grab a Tamborine from the charming Christopher Sieber and go out and love thy neighbor. I don’t know young Emma but I am now a fan. Thanks Josh Lamon, Cara Cooper, and the rest of the company for changing lives. It’s what Broadway should be. Singing, laughing and Dancing with the message of acceptance for all as the under current and what I walked out with. (Casey is a magician) |
