I don't know if it's her choice or just that she's never had the opportunity - but I wish someone would cast her in a musical.
I knew her as a college student (she was starting at Brandeis in the mid-80's just as I was graduating, but I was still there for a few years as a vocal coach for the MFA acting program - and I got to work with her a few times as well). I saw her play Beth in Merrily as a freshman. I later worked with her on a play called Waiting For The Parade that had a decent amount of singing in it. Her signature audition song was "Don't Rain On My Parade" (no connection with the aforementioned play of course) which she knocked out of the park. I was of course thrilled to see her get her TV roles, (I remember Ned And Stacey lol) but I always expected she'd do musicals too. But still, it's really cool to say "I knew her when..." ;-) |
