Yeah I was wondering why they didn't just start earlier, but it feels like early curtain times were not done much back then. Maybe the start time wasn't the issue, but that it was over 3 hours.
The change happened well after the show moved from the Broadway to the Imperial. In 2000, in fact, just a few years before it closed. As the grosses dipped they were looking for a way to reduce running costs. |
