Could it be more dark and dreary?

Not a smiling cowboy in sight!

Stop complaining. It's on Broadway, a lot of people and some of the critics like it, it's won some awards, and no one except for you and your six friends want to see a bunch of toothy chorus boys and girls singing O-K-L-A-H-O-M-A anymore. Most of us have moved on.

Wow! I believe I was making an observation about the album cover, not ranting or complaining about the production itself.

Just for the record, I don't factor in the number of awards a production receives to determine its merit.

Thank you for sharing your viewpoint! :-)

Yes it could be. Like when they turn out all the lights and act in the dark.

That's this production's logo and key art -- what were you expecting it to have?

This is the first time I saw the production's logo. I don't live in New York and skipped the Tony Awards.

Well, the show has a website, the logo has been used heavily in advertising, and it's very rare that a cast album cover doesn't use the show's logo. So it's not like this should be a big surprise, no matter what. ;-)

You don't like it. As they sing in the show, "OK." That's what your constitutional right means to you. ;-) And no, this show seems to be full of angry cowboys. That's the zeitgeist we're in, unfortunately.

But it does just seem a little surprising that you hadn't seen the logo before this, that's all. No big deal.

Well, I guess I belong back in the 1950s, where I came from. I don't use the internet to retrieve information about current productions as most people do. The Best Plays Series, anyone? :-)

Don't use the internet?

How do you get to this site?

I never said I don't use the internet at all. What I did say that I don't use the internet to research current productions.

Thank you for your post!

You're not alone. I have the Burns-Mantle Best Plays series beginning with 1963-64 and every volume thereafter until it died. I use it all the time to help answer trivia questions, like the ones on the Sunday podcasts of Broadway Radio. Works for me.

I live in NYC (5 blocks from the theater) and I watched the Tony Awards. I haven’t seen the logo and I don’t see it at your link. What am I missing?

It's in two different places at the link. A small version about midway through at the top of the song list, and a larger version in the upper right hand corner of the web page. The smaller version is clickable and links to a very large version (if you're on a desktop).

Wow. So dark & dreary, I didn’t notice it before. I agree with the OP.

I agree on dark - but after all, that goes with the take on the show. I'm not sure I'd call it dreary. Boldly stark, IMO.

At least the punctuation is correct (meaning the ampersand). ;-)
