Michael Portantiere takes a look at The Mountains Look Different

"I saw many plays over the years whose subject matter was young women who sold their bodies in order to live, and the end of every one of the plays was that the unfortunate woman married some simple innocent man who fell in love with her. But the curtain always came down before any of us in the audience knew anything about the life that was ahead of the couple." . . .

Excellent cast - Horgan and Meaney are cracklingly good, if that's a word. I saw The Ferryman again the same week, and they really made me wish for a new Irish play with a happy ending (an oxymoron, my daughter says, and she lives in Ireland).

All in all, another Mint gem.

of GO NAKED IN THE WORLD, a really trashy Gina Lolabrigida MGM film from the early 60s. You can catch it on TCM.
