I worked with John Willis for years on the Theatre World books and the awards. Before he passed away, he expressed his strong wishes that even if the books ever stopped publication (he realized the internet was providing much of the same information), he wanted to make sure that the Theatre World Awards continued. So that's what we did.

The sixty-plus volumes of the Theatre World books will always exist in libraries and private collections, providing a pictorial and factual history of New York theatre.

The mission of recognizing promising talent in what is often an unfair business, is what Daniel Blum (with John Willis as his just-returned-from WWII assistant) pledged to do when they started Theatre World during the 1944-45 season. We will continue that mission. We just celebrated our 75th awards on June 3rd at the Neil Simon Theatre.
