| buckle up Theatre Enthusiast's, its time for another rant about Ticketmaster!!! I went through the hassle of buying seats during the second release of tickets (cheapest ones all the way in the corner of the rear mezz) today I look and see that there are seats not only several rows closer, but dead center for a cheaper price. So i called Ticketmaster to ask about an exchange and got a lecture about how they don't set the price for the show and because the new tickets are cheaper an exchange is not possible. My only option would be to return the one I have and buy a new one (the tickets were a very generous gift from someone and I don't want to go through the hassle of getting them involved) I know it was a risk to buy early because prices change based on demand, but with how quickly the tickets went during the initial release, I didn't want to risk it. Now Im just stuck feeling like Im being penalized for buying early |

I don't understand -- TIcketmaster gave you the option of returning the ticket you already have for a refund rather than an exchange? I thought they didn't do that. Also, you wrote that you yourself bought the ticket(s), but then you wrote that they were a gift from a friend? If you bought them with someone else's credit card, then you wouldn't need to get them involved in returning and re-buying, would you? |

| For shows, but I have no empathy. Look at the inhertance—Amex presale was row M or sides for $199 closer. I looked around at moulin rouge and those are far sides for 199. I usually wait a day or two before the show and get much better seats at discount or standard price that were premium. Only hadestown and hello dolly did I end up paying more. As for one night only, they do sell out so it is a risk to wait. But you can’t blame Ticketmaster. They are only following the orders of the producers for setting prices for seats and locations. |
