thinking about this a little more... I do not think it is an insult to operationalize the fact that the Heyward name does not have the same recognition (and marketing benefit) as the Gershwin name, and I do not think that the self-appointed protectors of that name can speak for the Heyward legatees. I think without bullying they could easily appreciate that they would benefit from the maximum marketing benefit.

let's also note that this is not an odd scenario in the theatre (or elsewhere). Fairly often we have shows in which a "star" in a supporting role (or even less) receives top billing over the lead actors. Is this deemed an insult by the leads? Is there any bullying involved? (Hint: not usually.)
