| Industrial musicals have a long history. Long before the cop shows on TV gave many NYC actors something of a living, industrial musicals did so. Some of the writers were destined for fame. The difference between then and now is industrials were seen only by company salesmen and saleswomen. Some were filmed and some recorded. Steve Young, a writer formerly for The Late Show with David Letterman, caught the bug and started what became a big collection of what remains of industrial musicals. He's co-written a book, "Everything's Coming Up Profits" and appears in a reasonably fun documentary, "Bathtubs over Broadway." https://www.industrialmusicals.com/ https://www.bathtubsoverbroadway.com/ |
