I think Kidman and Rannells are inspired casting.
I was hoping, naively perhaps, that they'd keep Brooks - he is the heart and soul of that production, as well as giving a comic tour-de-force performance. Also, keep Michael Potts! He has plenty of screen experience and is closer in age to Meryl than (also talented) Keegan Michael Key.
I was surprised that Casey Nicholaw seems to have almost no involvement in this film - a radical departure in production from Murphy's "keep everyone and everything" film plans for "Boys in the Band." |
