There is literally nothing prestigious or even especially high quality about this show except the subject matter at the heart of it and even then, not entirely because it deals with it in the most basic of ways really.
I enjoyed it for the most part, and I really liked a good amount of the score, but I wouldn't say it's a "good" musical writing-wise, nowhere near great, and prestige is not something it seems to lend itself to.
In fact I think the material will not look good under the heavy weight of such an A-list cast that would, in theory, lead audiences to think it is a level that this show is not. |
