Saw Laura Benanti's Eliza for 3rd time this afternoon and still in musical comedy heaven! She is entrancing, leading a splendid cast-each and every one is wonderful (STILL don't understand how Harry Hadden-Paton lost the tony last year-by far the best Higgins I ever saw on stage, your heart breaks for him at the end). And the incomparable Rosemary Harris is still a lesson in elegance, style and class-stunning work! Hope to get to enjoy it one more time before it closes next Sunday! A gorgeous production-

Thanks for bringing this up. I saw Benanti for the second time (and the show for the third) two weeks back and couldn't agree more. I was thrilled all over again. I envy your ability to see it again.
I'll add that I saw new things in it on the third viewing. I saw far more clearly how the story includes a budding sense of romance between Eliza and Higgins -- and that Benanti and Hadden-Powell portrayed it beautifully and completely in keeping with the text. But that it's a romance that doesn't stand a chance just because of the artificial class phenomena that Shaw, Lerner and Lowe (through both Higgins and Doolittle) draws to our attention. It's a romance doomed by culture/class ... and ego. I walked out thinking exactly like you that Haden-Powell was robbed in a major way. I love Benanit and thoroughly enjoyed Ambrose, but I realized how fundamental Hadden-Powell is to the success of this production. He's brilliant in the most aptly understated British manner.

I agree about Harry. He should have won.
I’m seeing the show twice next week, one of them the last performance.

Tonight the audience was crazy for Kiss Me, Kate. Loud applause for almost every number. Everyone was at their best. I still don’t know how this didn’t get the choreography Tony.

I saw it last night with an excellent Michael Halling on as Higgins. I would not say Laura was better or worse than Lauren, each was a wonderful Eliza in her own way, but the production seems even stronger than when I saw it a year ago.

It will be a loss to today's Broadway when it and Kiss Me, Kate are gone within a week of each other.

I was never a fan of My Fair Lady until I saw this particular production for a 2nd time back in February. When I initially saw this production during previews, I came out of it thinking, "it's a very good production of a show I just don't care for." I wanted to see Laura Benanti as Eliza, so I purchased a ticket for this past February. The entire production thrilled me and seemed a bit more cohesive in comparison to the first time I saw it. I also liked Christian Dante White much more as Freddie than Jordan Donica. I took my mom to see it for Mother's Day last month, and she enjoyed it as well. She had not seen the original production with Julie Andrews as she and my dad were living in California at the time.

I have a ticket to the show this Saturday. I bought my ticket in May when it was listed that Kerstin Anderson would be playing Eliza (my Telecharge receipt verifies this). I had been wanting to see her Eliza, as I had heard wonderful things about her performance. Yesterday I found out that Shereen Ahmed would be playing Eliza all weekend. Has anyone here seen Shereen as Eliza? Was Christian Dante White in last night? Thanks!

When I caught the show on Thurs., 5/9/19, Benanti was out; however, Shereen Ahmed was delightful and really nailed that final note of "I Could Have Danced All Night". You won't be disappointed.

Yes, Christian was in it last night. An understudy, Adam Grupper, went on for Dolittle, and he was excellent.
