| I saw the show, and what was on the Tonys did not really represent it well. I agree that the Tony number seemed hyperactive and distracting. That isn't how I remember the show. Not to say I thought the show was good. I thought the book was terrible (with some truly cringe-inducing lines). And the projections were...not my favorite. Very Des McAnuff, and not in a good way. But hyperactive/distracting movement wasn't the problem. I think the music comes through well enough in the show, and probably people who are less critical than me wouldn't care that the projections are largely just names of US cities, shown different ways, over, and over, and over.... |
