| The comic writers, too. I was lucky enough to count Len Wein (decades long career as writer at both Marvel and DC, creator of many of the later X-Men, including Wolverine; member of the Comics Hall of Fame) as a close friend, and Len was an avid theatre fan. He and many of his colleagues saw damn near everything on Broadway in the years Len lived in NYC. At a memorial for Len at our local annual science fiction convention, most speakers talked about Len's comics work. I spoke of his love for theatre. Laura L |

| well, and that does not surprise me in the least. When I first met Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa he was working at the Shakespeare Theatre in Washington DC. And I am sure you can appreciate that the sum total of all the comic book writers of whom you speak would not be sufficient to make a single Wednesday matinee a success. :-) Well, maybe at the Helen Hayes. :-) | |

| Of course. And a lot of those whom Stan Lee deemed "True Believers" don't care a fig about theatre. But there is some overlap. I can speak more authority about the related field of science fiction and fantasy publishing/writing/general fandom. Plenty of theatre buffs. (Not enough, alas, to convince any of the sf publishers to buy my time-traveler-saves-Gershwin novel, though.) I think Hiddles will draw them in. The screening of his CORIOLANUS that I attended some years back sold out--and on his name, because you can't say it was for the material. Laura |

| I don't know--Scarlet Johansson would make a fierce Volumnia! | |

| I think I have made my point and you have made yours. I'll just point out that selling out a screening is not on the scale of (let's say) the $12mil this is going to need to take in, at a minimum, to be a success. But I'll repeat the chorus of my song: we shall see. | |
