I was sitting pretty high up in the 200 section second row but I still had a splendid evening. Hugh sounded great tonight and the show was well paced with a 20 minute intermission. He is in terrific shape and danced a lot, including some tap.
He sang a lot of show tunes including several numbers from The Boy from Oz and a medley of songs from older movie musicals. He sang the Soliloquy from Carousel and two songs from Les Mis and several songs from The Greatest Showman.
Guests included Keala Settle, Benj Pesek and Justin Paul and Aboriginal musicians from Australia. The New York Gay Men’s Chorus sang You Will Be Found and One Day More with Hugh and others.
Though I prefer seeing him in a Broadway theater, Hugh gave a wonderful concert worth the ticket price. |
