I love the movie, and I agree it is way better than its reputation. I'm on record saying anywhere I can that the movie is actually better than the stage show... outside of the magic of the original cast or the amazing replacements it had, I think the material is improved and fixed in some places, the staging and choreography are vastly better (sorry Gower), and I think Barbra and the whole cast of the movie are sensational.
And Barbra and Walter are terrific together, indeed! |
