| I think the Pinter analogy is a good one. And Jud is a dangerous, murderous sociopath, not a good guy who the community has decided, Shirley Jackson-style, to purge because he likes porn and isn't as slick as Curly. The dark humor of Poor Jud Is Dead (sorry, I can't bring myself to type those synthetic hillbilly-isms) makes the song, to me at least, more appealing. Thanks for the insight. |
