| On a related subject, I just found out a few days ago that I had misunderstood a lyric in Papa Was a Rollin' Stone, featured in Ain't Too Proud, for decades. The last line of the chorus is "And when he died, all he left us was alone," but I thought it was, "And when he died, all he left us was a loan," ie, the father had taken out a loan before he died, and now the family was stuck with this huge debt. |
