| I don't think Francks is terrible in FINIAN'S, but there's something a bit stagey and smarmy about his performance, and also, he looks a little weird. (A friend of mine is convinced that he wore a wig, not his real hair, in the movie.) I think Jack Jones did quite a bit of theater later in his career, but anyway, I wouldn't say the acting requirements for Woody are that challenging, and his voice was really beautiful. So I would have loved to see him in the part instead. |
