I've always felt that spelling words in a way to reflect dialects or regional pronunciations always comes across as a little condescending somehow, even when it's done with complete accuracy, as for example (I assume) OKLAHOMA!, CAROUSEL, and PORGY AND BESS. That said, I still appreciate the effort, and I think it can be very helpful to performers. |
