What if they had cast Leslie Uggams as Nettie for one of the "Carousel" revivals? I know, I know, she is usually very well-prepared and terrific in performance, but given that the producers of a Washington D.C. concert switched songs, cue cards were drenched and not available, that these all conspired to make Leslie's "June is Bustin' Out All Over" a heeby-jeebie jumble full of ad-libbed made-up nonsense words.
