Betsy Joslyn was a fascinating performer. Still my favorite Witch. I saw A Doll's Life four times. She did give a heroic performance in an extraordinarily difficult role. The show itself was seriously flawed but with some very neat stuff, especially in act two. I think it was greatly hurt by the inability of the writers and Prince to solve the opening scene, and it was tough for the show to recover from that. I'm not sure they realized just how damaging that opening scene was.

I am sorry Betsy Joslyn retired. Among other things, I had hoped that someday she would play Mrs. Lovett. I would love to have seen that.
