I read Jesse Green's piece just before catching today's matinee and didn't feel as though anything was spoiled for me. Actually, it better attuned me to listen for clues I might otherwise have ignored or not remembered. The Vulture review was much more negative; I think undeservedly so. The kids were fantastic. Their bittersweet play will remain in my memory a long time. "Children will listen" as Sondheim put it.
