| I'm glad to hear that Pope left for a TV project, but that doesn't mean he wasn't also having vocal issues. As I said, his singing voice was very weak when I saw the show. Plus, other people who saw the show around the time I did mentioned, without my mentioning it first, that they too felt his voice was weak, and I also heard from someone involved with the production that he missed several performances -- along with other members of the cast. I believe there are few people who can healthily and successfully sing in that high falsetto register eight performances a week -- the actual Temptations guy never had to do that, nor did Frankie Valli when he was singing with the Four Seasons -- so I'm guessing that was the issue. |
