FRANKENSTEIN
Tuesdays at 7 PM

A sweeping romantic musical
about the human need for love and companionship
based on Mary Shelley’s classic novel

St. Luke’s Theatre, 308 West 46th St. (at 8th Ave) in NY
FRANKENSTEIN celebrates 100 weeks playing Off-Broadway at St. Luke’s Theatre, where it continues on Tuesday evenings at 7 PM in an open-run. With book, music and lyrics by Eric B. Sirota, FRANKENSTEIN is directed by Clint Hromsco, with music direction by Kent Kim and produced by John Lant, Write Act Repertory and Tamra Pica.

FRANKENSTEIN performed last week at “Broadway in Bryant Park”, sharing the stage with Phantom of the Opera, Mean Girls and Tootsie. Bryant Park sits in the shadow of the New York Public Library, which is particularly meaningful to FRANKENSTEIN’s composer/playwright Eric Sirota. “The library houses the Carl H. Pforzheimer Collection which contains manuscripts and other materials associated with Mary Shelley, who wrote Frankenstein two centuries ago. In 2016, I attended a symposium at the library, about the 'year without a summer', 1816, the dreary atmosphere which inspired Mary Shelley when she first penned her groundbreaking novel. I hope I did justice to her work. . . Having the amazing cast perform excerpts and hearing the musical heartbeat echo off the monumental façade of the library was quite powerful.”

Performances at St. Luke's Theatre located at 308 West 46th Street (between 8th and 9th Avenues). Tickets cost between $29.00 and $99.00 (front row seating) and can be purchased online through Telecharge at https://www.telecharge.com/Off-Broadway/Frankenstein-a-new-musical or by calling (212) 239-6200. Published in 1818, Mary Shelley’s Frankenstein has recently celebrated its bicentennial and this musical honors its source material as a contemporary work of musical theatre. Having lost his mother at a young age, Victor Frankenstein seeks to end human mortality and arrogantly enters territory beyond his control. While he enjoys unconditional love from Elizabeth, Victor grants none to his creation. For more info, please visit TheFrankensteinMusical.com
