some nice songs but no dramatic arc.
I didn't see the original production, but have seen a few good productions since and have worked with the material in coaching, etc. I think it has more than "some nice songs," and I do feel it has a dramatic arc. And I've been notoriously hard in my feelings about JRB. I've warmed up to much more of his writing over time, but this was - like I said about Caroline as well - a show that I loved from first hearing. |
