I think that this bears all the trappings of a heavily edited piece (as does the other one). Stylistically and tonally it bears little resemblance to the loathsome Simon. I am not suggesting someone else wrote them, but something is very off. (And I am flummoxed by the suggestion it is marked by erudition.)
