I think it's worth mentioning that the wildly popular brunch at Clinton Street Baking Company is a short walk away. Of course you'll have to plan your wait time accordingly since they don't take reservations.
There is a nice Thai place on Rivington called Ginger and Lemongrass. And great Mexican on Norfolk called La Contenta. Also Pig and Khao on Clinton.
