There was a lot of controversy about the win for "Avenue Q" since there was some kind of bait and switch about its producers promising rights for tours and regional theaters in exchange for voting for it, which rights then weren't given once the show won the Tony. It was a political sucker punch to people playing politics in their voting, and it kind of bit some people, perhaps with karmic power, in the ass.
But then they did suddenly decide to tour after all...maybe under pressure? In any case I'm glad they did.
