| Maybe you saw the film on HBO, it was on this month. I started it and gave up after half an hour. Those Touchstone/BetteMidler/80s comedies are pretty atrocious (exception : DOWN AND OUT IN BEVERLY HILLS) and I can't imagine anyone being inspired to make a musical from the hammy, play to balcony 30 minutes I saw. Midler especially was awful. In fact, there were so many awful cheesy 80s comedies -- OUTRAGEOUS FORTUNE, RUTHLESS PEOPLE, TROOP BEVERLY HILLS, COCKTAIL -- that I think the only way to "make a musical of them" would be to do a parody, a la BEACH BLANKET BABYLON. |
