Here's my last post on this thread. It's been a decade, and ''Memphis'' has proven itself by the criteria I listed: its awards wins, its performance at the box office, etc. There are many people, including a number of critics, who enjoyed this show.
Again, taste is subjective. If you had seen ''Memphis'' and found it wanting, that's your legit opinion. But to say ''I don't even know the show'' and lump it with other ''weaker Best Musicals'' based only on hearsay, seems so dismissive and unfair. |
