But I kind of heard it as kids tend to not stick to things. He’s six and likes ballet now but 7 or 8 he’ll be on to something else. So a dad saying his son loves ballet and she wasn’t really putting down ballet for boys. But I can see the other interpretation in the blogs. I hope she doesn’t lose her job over this.

Kind of heard? You heard wrong. Her views and insinuations were perfectly clear. If you think it is ok for 50 year old reporter to bully a six year old kid with ridicule, then please reconsider your thoughts.

Oh for Heaven's sake! He's the freaking King Of England. The public pays him and his family millions and millions of pounds a year. Like his father and uncle, he has been left alone more or less in his childhood (at least in his native land).

Lara Spencer- as much as she might be a tool- was hardly "bullying a six-year old". Something tells me Prince George does not tune into GMA every lunch hour.

Actually he isn’t The King of England. Words have consequences and if you can’t see that, the you are part of the problem.

Are you talking about my "words" or about Lara Spencer's? Hers weren't really words as much as derisive snorts.

As a gay, liberal, Democrat, Elizabeth Warren-loving leftie who has worked in musical theatre for thirty years and counts both gay and straight ballet dancers as some of his bosomest companions, I feel perfectly at peace with describing this "controversy" as ludicrous and feeling that to infer that Lara Spencer should lose her job over it is, at last, a real witch hunt of the nastiest sort.

If I were her boss, I'd tell her to lay off the mockery of boys who want to dance. Maybe mention it on air as something she feels bad about saying.

Of course, if it hadn't blown up on the internet, nobody would have even known she'd said it. Who the eff watches GMA anymore? Since David Hartman and Joan Lunden left, it's gone steadily downhill.

And yes, I am aware that Prince George has not been crowned yet. But thanks for the correction.

Getting ready for work. Part is the local news before gma has Reggie aqui, who is so fine a gay man to watch in the morning and says some really outrageous stuff. Like this morning there was something about Patrick Page’s wife and he said that her married name is Page Page and then his cohost pointed out they met on beast on broadway. So I watch gma instead of today show.

her last comment re: see how long that lasts certainly certainly points to that, but her ridiculous pronunciation of "ballet" & tone before that line read very differently to me and more in line with the reactions she is getting.

Don't care if she gets canned. She was not a pleasant person in my only encounter with her back in her WABC days.

I'm very curious top know the details of your "only encounter with her back in her WABC days".

Just because she's not friendly to people who might accost her on the street or talk to her at a party or at a ball game does not mean she should be fired from her job.

Did not accost her. Did not even approach her- just observed her.

Worked for a national retailer that had just announced they were going out of business & my assistant manager refused to talk to her on camera, nor allow her to interview anyone else who worked in the store. he was polite, but firm.

She essentially laughed in his face & told him he deserved to be fired. Nasty, condescending , etc.

Yeah, no love lost for her in my life. I care as much about her job security as she cared about my assistant manager's.

All fine reasons to dislike her....

Well, why don't you skedaddle over to the ABC studio in Times Sq on Monday morning and ask the producers why they reduced her schedule from five days a week to three, six months ago.

LOL. I can't imagine that it's because she's not a "pleasant" person. Presumably her ratings are slipping. The traditional reason for any kind of demotion or termination. Perfectly legitimate.

That is until the most recent years when forty-year comments made when drunk at a party are now being used as reason to lose your career.
