Unmentioned by the Outrage-Addicted are a few other things in the brouhaha. It was George Stephanopoulos who both started the laughter and laughed hardest and longest. I gather he's getting a free pass and none of the Professionally Affronted are putting out petitions about him or trying to get him fired (to my knowledge as yet.)

Spencer also immediately followed his yucking it up by turning to him and the other co-host and addressing them directly: "Well, "I mean, well, he might! He might end up –" (implied: a good ballet dancer.) Then she tracks back for her story punch line: "I mean, with the religious studies, and the computer programming, I just want to go back to the Play-Doh!"

But some of those contextual details detract from the Outrage Storyline.

Stephanopoulos did not go unmentioned by me, or by some others. See my other posts, if you care to. He seems to have some SERIOUS issues in regard to homophobia. But that doesn't excuse what Spencer said, like for example the way she used "ballet" as a punchline. So I fail to understand what you are getting at.
