| It closes tomorrow but there are two more performances to see it. It is a pretty riveting dramedy based on the 2010 outing of locals in a Uganda newspaper, leading to murder and arrests of suspected gay men driven by fears whipped up by “good Christians”. In a week where the government of the USA has applied to SCOTUS to allow the legal sackings of gays and lesbians from their jobs, driven by evangelicals in government, this is a very timely reminder of the evils that can be perpetrated in the name of religion. I was a little frustrated by the end of the play but it was surprisingly funny in parts and sad in others with a very memorable chilling twist. |
