| By having Lara Spencer (aided by the powers that be at GMA) carefully orchestrate her apology this morning (taped last night) they missed the real point, and their best media opportunity. Which was the bunch of dancers taking the ballet class in Times Square early this morning. They aired the taped apology segment after the class took place, and it was just casually mentioned in the piece. The class began with a couple of simple opening remarks by the dance leaders, after which they got right down to the dancing—led by Robbie Fairchild and Alex Wong. It was so joyful to see the young boys (and some girls) keeping up with the professionals and giving it their best. It was a sweet sight to behold, and one the most beautiful gatherings (to make a statement) I’ve ever seen. The clips of the class are being shared via various social media accounts, but I did spot a camera from Entertainment Tonight as well. Hopefully more people will get the chance to see it. Bravo to the dance community for coming together in a positive and hopefully impactful way. |
