| Anyone seen the production at Menier? Have the chance to see it on an upcoming trip but having never seen the show, i'm curious if this is a worthy production? Thanks! |

| I saw the last preview performance of Bridges back in July. I agree with the other posters that the acting is strong (Jenna Russell is giving her all), but the vocals are extremely weak pretty much across the board (save for the actress who sings "Another Life"). I liked the intimate production and the elimination of the townsfolk from the periphery of every scene as in the Broadway production. The show works so much better as a chamber musical. If you have a strong desire to see "Bridges" then see it, but if your main reason is to hear JRB's score sung like on the OBC with O'Hara and Pasquale then I'd suggest seeing something else. | |

| Jenna Russell is giving a phenomenal *acting* performance. She doesn't have Kelli O'Hara's glorious soprano, but she sings it quite well. I found the direction a little cumbersome in places, but I think the piece probably gains from being seen in a venue as small as the Menier. The music is wonderful, and the show, overall, was good enough that I'm going back before it closes - which isn't something I do often, I live about 200 miles from London. | |

| Lots of comments here: http://theatreboard.co.uk/thread/6369/bridges-madison-county-menier-musical?page=25 General consensus appears to be a decent production, but the leads may be a bit miscast vocally. Some pushing this point more than others. |

| Always forget to check there. You all are always my number one. Still haven't seen Bridges and not sure when I'll get a chance to plus I still haven't been to Menier so I feel I may as well grab a ticket. Even if it's not the best production. |

| I saw it a few weeks ago. Jenna Russell acts it BEAUTIFULLY and in some ways is a more natural fit for the show than Kelli, notwithstanding the latter performer's vocals Edward Baker-Duly (a Trevor Nunn fave) is OK but no Steven Pasquale- but then who would be? It's got a distractingly fussy and overcomplicated set and need desperate trimming but the score, as always, is quite gorgeous |

| I still think the show would have done better if they cut the ending. Once she makes her choice and goes into the shop with her family, the show should end. What happens when she grows older and the kids grow up really is incidental to the love story. | |

| "I still think the show would have done better if they cut the ending. Once she makes her choice and goes into the shop with her family, the show should end. What happens when she grows older and the kids grow up really is incidental to the love story." I guess I can see why you'd say that, but I really disagree. In both the movie and the show, I think it's incredibly poignant that we hear and see a little of what happened to these people afterwards in terms of their relationship (i.e., that it ended completely), and how they died without ever reconnecting on any level. |
