| I saw it a few weeks ago. Jenna Russell acts it BEAUTIFULLY and in some ways is a more natural fit for the show than Kelli, notwithstanding the latter performer's vocals Edward Baker-Duly (a Trevor Nunn fave) is OK but no Steven Pasquale- but then who would be? It's got a distractingly fussy and overcomplicated set and need desperate trimming but the score, as always, is quite gorgeous |

| I still think the show would have done better if they cut the ending. Once she makes her choice and goes into the shop with her family, the show should end. What happens when she grows older and the kids grow up really is incidental to the love story. | |

| "I still think the show would have done better if they cut the ending. Once she makes her choice and goes into the shop with her family, the show should end. What happens when she grows older and the kids grow up really is incidental to the love story." I guess I can see why you'd say that, but I really disagree. In both the movie and the show, I think it's incredibly poignant that we hear and see a little of what happened to these people afterwards in terms of their relationship (i.e., that it ended completely), and how they died without ever reconnecting on any level. |
