| Jenna Russell is giving a phenomenal *acting* performance. She doesn't have Kelli O'Hara's glorious soprano, but she sings it quite well. I found the direction a little cumbersome in places, but I think the piece probably gains from being seen in a venue as small as the Menier. The music is wonderful, and the show, overall, was good enough that I'm going back before it closes - which isn't something I do often, I live about 200 miles from London. |
