| I had been putting off seeing LIFE SUCKS because a friend of a friend had disliked it. But I love UNCLE VANYA....been in a production once....so I listened to the raves of the NYTIMES and TIMEOUT and I'm glad I did....Two and a half hours of intelligent pleasure. The writing is superb in terms of bringing the play into the present without losing the humor and the pathos of the original. The cast is sublime and they seem to really enjoy themsilves. At various times they elicit audience responses....something I usually abhor, but at the end of the play they ask the audience to describe life ...does it suck? The usual responses were shouted out and then the English fellow next to me said....We should suck all the joy from life that it gives us. Vanya asked him to repeat it and then he said THE END and the final curtain call. It is closing soon and it is well worth your time. | |

| I wasn't planning on seeing this, and not sure I can....but this review--among the rest--certainly makes me want to catch it closing afternoon, if there are tickets left. | |

| Saw it today, on your recommendation, and enjoyed it -- should be edited -- a little precious -- but many of the scenes and all of the acting were terrific. thanks. | |
