Agree on Bailey/Doyle. I saw Bailey twice in London (early in run and then near the end). He was out of control and manic the second go around.
I am a tad bemused at those folks who seem to think because of the ovation he received for Not Getting Married Today that he was uniquely successful in this role ... as if any actor competently performing the number would not get the same response. Of course the London staging's business with the priest did have a few special moments, ones I hope they repeat and/or build upon here. |
