| Award-winning composer Alan Menken introduces ''Desert Moon,'' a lovely song he wrote with Benj Pasek and Justin Paul. I imagine it got cut due to pacing, but Naomi Scott and Mena Massoud sound beautiful, especially with that oud accompaniment. I actually enjoy it more than ''Speechless,'' the belty, new empowerment ballad that this team wrote for Jasmine. (Maybe I just have a soft spot for orphaned songs; similarly, I love ''Proud of Your Boy,'' cut from the animated ''Aladdin.'') |

| There’s another cut song from Aladdin. It’s called “You Can Count On Me.” | |

| Beautiful song with the underscoring from “A Whole New World.” Look it up on YouTube. Menken sings it. | |

| The London edition just closed a week ago. Guess they're trying to capitalize on the hit live-action movie of ''Aladdin.'' I admired how the new film cast Aladdin with Mena Massoud, a talented actor of Arab descent. Has that happened yet with any of the major productions of ''Aladdin'' (Broadway, national tour or West End)? |

| I've loved this song since I heard Mr Harnick sing it in the evening he does with his wife. It makes sense that the tone of this song was not quite right for its position late in the show. But when I saw the current revival of FIDDLER, it struck me - as it always does when I think about it - that Act opens with 2 pages of dialogue - a monolog for Tevye, and then a scene that leads to 'Now I have Everything'. While the trashing of his daughter's wedding by the Russians is not as big an event as the expulsion from Anataevka at the end of Act 2 - its still a BIG event. I would love to see a production that was allowed to try inserting WHEN MESSIAH COMES at the top of Act 2 - a bit of restructure, cutting of Tevye's monolog, a tweak here and there to the lyrics - and the 2d act of the musical would get to music much quicker - and music for Teye. (and no - I don't think I'm the first person who ever thought of this. Maybe it has been trued ...) My ten cents. |

| Peter Filichia once made up this list, and rated ''When Messiah Comes'' as his No. 4 choice. As for your ''ten cents,'' I'm reminded of how much I love ''Ten Percent,'' the agent's song cut from ''Chicago.'' ;) |

| Another good one is “Shooting Star,” cut from Hercules. I like it better than “Go the Distance.” I used it as an audition song for years. | |

| Also: “Come Down from the Tree” from Once on This Island. Audra McDonald’s version is just gorgeous. | |

| I've always really liked "If I Cannot Love," cut from Triumph of Love, but with Betty Buckley's thrilling rendition happily preserved on the CD as a bonus track. | |

| Cut from Yip Yip Yaphank. Perhaps the most popular song ever cut from a musical. | |
