| I don't know about doing it on an iPhone, but when I was in Japan I went a Kabuki show and they had caption devices for people who didn't speak Japanese. I was shocked and pleased to see that the screen was built in such a way that you could only see it from straight on, and if you were to the side of it, it appeared dark, or low enough light that you wouldn't notice unless you were looking at it. My dad was sitting next to me and he had is own device. I could barely see the screen! I'm not quite sure how it works, or if the same effect can be achieved on an iPhone when the screen isn't build for it - but I can attest to the fact that the technology is out there, and it's effective! |
