CAESAR AND CLEOPATRA is one of my favorite Shaw plays and I'm looking forward to seeing this.
But the statement they've been using in all their press releases that the play "hasn't been given a full New York City production in over forty years" is incorrect.
It was produced by Jean Cocteau Repertory at the Bouwerie Lane Theatre in the Spring of 1999: link to New York Times review:

And in the winter of 2009, it was produced by Resonance Theatre Ensemble; this production was actually in the Harold Clurman Theatre at Theatre Row, the same complex where the new one is being presented. Link to New York Times review:
