| Same actor but different role. There’s just this sense of deja vu. He doesn’t play the customs inspector as the Emcee. | |

| "Same actor but different role. There’s just this sense of deja vu. He doesn’t play the customs inspector as the Emcee." Oh, I think I understand. That sounds very interesting and creative. |

| This was done in the Mendes revival as well, but with the customs inspector playing the scene with his back to the audience in a large coat and hat. At the end of the scene, it's revealed that it's the Emcee in yet another guise. All the Emcees I saw over the years that production ran affected some kind of different voice so as not to make it obvious until the reveal. | |

Did the Emcee also play the customs inspector in the train scene, early in the show, when Cliff is arriving in Berlin, or only in the train scene at the end? |

| I think only in the train scene at the end. | |
