I couldn't agree more. I'm so grateful that Ghostlight Records put out this terrific Tom Kitt-Amanda Green score on CD.
''The Last Real Record Store on Earth'' is an awesome opener, anchored by Will Chase, who's never been better. Kitt's tune is incredibly catchy, and I love Green's witty wordplay: ''I'm not too brilliant on the day-to-day''/ ''What's the day today?''
The score is chockful of knockouts: ''Desert Island Top 5 Breakups,'' ''Ready to Settle'' and the lovely ''Laura, Laura.''
But the other track I've played over and over is ''Goodbye and Good Luck,'' a fun fantasy number about Bruce Springsteen.
''High Fidelity'' played 18 previews and 13 regular performances in 2006, but I loved it so much, I must've seen 4 of them.
I wish more regional theaters would do it. ''High Fidelity'' deserves to be heard and seen again. It really rocks. |
