| This is simply not true, at least not categorically. I was involved with the ACL tour that was launched on the heels of the Broadway revival and it was performed without an intermission 98% of the time. Memory is a little fuzzy now but I think an intermission might have been granted in a few of the Canadian markets. Others who saw the original tour, or other tours over the years can comment on those. But the Bennett estate has some clout and I think this show was overwhelmingly performed without an intermission on the road. |
